The drama short film “We Who Keep Shining” follows Layla, an up-and-coming influencer from Curaçao. She is invited on a brand trip to Amsterdam and, thanks to social media, has a perfect image of a brand trip in her head. Once in Amsterdam, she experiences discrimination and goes through microaggressions. She soon realizes that the perfect image of a brand trip does not match her reality. She learns that the perfect trip does not exist, and that not everything on social media is what it seems. In the end, there is light at the end of the tunnel: Layla realizes the resilience of people who look like her.
Community and creativity also arise from injustice.

What do we offer?
Unfortunately, there is no budget available. The short film will be shared with the participants and may be used for portfolio/CV.

For the short film, I am looking for:
- 3 white actresses who want to play a supporting role. Role: engages in discriminatory behavior.
- 4 actors (male & female) of color who want to play extras/semi-supporting roles. Role: contribute to an energetic/emotional atmosphere.

I am aware that acting discriminatory behavior can be nerve-wracking. In that regard, the roles of the white actresses are not very long or intense. Nevertheless, I want to state that performing discriminatory behavior within a fictional role says nothing about you as a person. It is about telling a story and portraying a character credibly. This is fiction!
So I am also looking for people who are comfortable enough to carry this out.
