In the short, expressive film 'Verver & Pijpman', we follow the serious painter named 'Verver', who lives in an even more austere and over-capitalized version of the Netherlands. The film begins when, after an intense painting session, he steps back and discovers something in his work that disturbs him greatly. Subsequently, his sink also becomes clogged, prompting him to call the plumber 'Pijpman'. When the latter arrives at his door within seconds, we, along with Verver, must learn to get used to this man with a completely different energy, but who simultaneously fascinates him greatly.

In addition to theatrical dialogue, the film relies heavily on the mise-en-scene, where much is conveyed through art and non-verbal acting. We are shooting the film on 16mm black-and-white film. This gives this film about craftsmanship and art a fittingly distinctive look. Furthermore, this means we must be economical with our shooting time. For this reason, we are looking for an experienced (theatre) actor capable of performing at the right moment. To achieve this, we ensure ample time for scheduled shooting days and anticipate 2 to 3 rehearsal sessions where we can take plenty of time to prepare everything.
