My name is Noah Andersson. I'm a film student and, together with my cameraman, Renee, I'm applying to the Netherlands Film Academy. We have to make a short film, of course. The short film we chose is "Dear Sammy." Below, you can read a brief description of the story.

A man spends his evenings in silence. He sits in front of the television, beer in hand, routine and empty. When he goes to the kitchen for a new bottle, his gaze falls on a photo of his deceased wife hanging on the refrigerator. Her smile touches him deeply: pain and love at the same time.
Then a loud bang sounds from the attic. He finds a box overturned, probably by the wind. While tidying up, he discovers a cassette tape with the words "For When I'm Gone." He gasps. He takes the tape downstairs and inserts it into the old cassette player.
His wife's voice fills the room: she tells him she'd known she was ill for some time, but had kept quiet about it so as not to burden him. She expresses her love and asks him to move on with his life. Her final message: "I'll wait for you... but don't come too soon."
The man listens, broken. His gaze freezes; he drains his beer. Silence fills the room. Then he opens a cabinet and takes out a box of medicine. His eyes fill with tears.
The screen fades to black. His wife's fragile voice still sounds briefly: "...but don't come too soon."

This story follows Samuel (Sammy), a man who lives a secluded life after losing his wife. The house is empty, and the warm atmosphere that once existed is gone. The story sheds light on loneliness and coping with grief. The film also aims to make it clear that people close to you who have lost someone can also struggle with loneliness and mental health issues.

Description
We're looking for a man around 50 to play Sammy. Sammy is a man who, after the death of his wife, doesn't see much color in life anymore, which is reflected in his face and his surroundings. We're looking for someone who can react emotionally to a recorded message; someone who can cry on command would be fantastic! Ideally, you'd play a mix of emotionless and very emotional.
