Hi, my name is Thijs van Oosterhout and I am a student at the Dutch Academy for Image Creation in Eindhoven. In collaboration with Stichting Vier het Leven we are making a video clip, with which we encourage young people to visit their grandparents more often. Merlijn Dewasme, an emerging talent in music, makes a song that, together with the video clip, conveys this message, “go visit”, to the youth.

Lars is a boy of around 20 years old and always chooses not to visit his grandfather. His grandfather tries to contact Lars and starts to feel more and more alone. But Lars only realizes how important this is when it is too late….

Roles:

Lars (18-22): Lars is a boy with a “busy” life. This mainly refers to his social life. He does a lot of fun things with friends and wants to be part of everything. He is also sporty and likes gaming. He makes little time for his grandfather. Lars does not realize how precious this time together still is.

Edith (35-60): Edith is a busy mother who has a lot to do. She visits her father Guido every now and then, but has little time for that. That is why she hopes that her son Lars also thinks of grandpa.
(Edith has 1 major scene where she needs to be in an emotional state).

Guido (65+): Guido is a lonely man. His wife died 5 years ago and he himself has just moved into a nursing home. He has hardly any friends or family and therefore seeks contact with his grandson, hoping that he will think of him. But he does not get the attention he needs.
