Worked since 1989 during art academy study at div, movies for art / film academy, after which I officially started as a costume designer in 1991, done many films and TV series until today.

I stay true to the idiosyncrasy of my academy days, I don't hang on to trends and I am honest with the personality and character of the actors. I like to work close to the skin of the actor. I am inspired by people I see on the street, here in the Netherlands or on the other side of the world; by films, fashion books and photographers such as Bertien van Manen, Nan Goldin and Martin Parr. The street fashion image is more important to me than the fashion of the catwalks: I prefer a realistic image to a romanticized one, but I also like to go wild with the more fantasy film.
