Fara Renaud

I was born in France, grew up in Flanders, and am 32 years old. My training is in drama acting at RITCS (Brussels), in Dutch, completed in 2025. I have always sung, drawn, danced, and acted. I love creating all kinds of things, but above all, I enjoy being on stage or in front of the camera. My first professional experience was a supporting role in the feature film *Paradijs* (2024) by Bobbie Koek. Currently, the short film *Dyson*, which I wrote, co-directed (together with Clac), and in which I play the lead role, is touring festivals. The film won the audience award at NIQUONS! (Paris) and the jury prize at the BrusselsPFF — primarily due to the acting. I work as an actress in other people's creations, ranging from instructional videos for Culture Moves Europe to the feature film *Paradijs*, an audio recording, or a performed reading. In addition, I write, direct, and perform my own creations – such as in *Injections* about the use of hormones and *Qu'est-ce que tu racontes?* about sexual violence at work.
Before starting art school, I was also a researcher and lecturer in mathematics at the university for six years, first as a doctoral student and then as a lecturer – including in Bath, Bristol, and Cambridge in England. Currently, I am putting all my energy into launching my artistic career as an actress, participating in castings, and, in the longer term, working on my own projects: a documentary on queer conception, the performance Qu'est-ce que tu racontes?, and the theatre piece Adulte pour la deuxième fois, currently in preparation.

Ik ben geboren in Frankrijk, opgegroeid in België, 32 jaar oud, en mijn moedertaal is Frans. Ik heb drama acteren gestudeerd op het Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound in Brussel, in het Nederlands, afgestudeerd in 2025. Wat mijn professionele ervaring betreft, speelde ik een bijrol in de langspeelfilm Paradijs (2024) van Bobbie Koek. In 2024 heb ik ook Injections gemaakt en opgevoerd in Brussel (Recyclart, ZK, Hectolitre) en in Nantes (Paré·es Pour). Sinds de zomer van 2025 toert de korte film *Dyson*, die ik heb geschreven, mede geregisseerd (samen met Clac) en waarin ik heb gespeeld, langs internationale filmfestivals (Dublin, Berlijn, Amsterdam, Seattle, Athene, enz.), waarbij we de Publieksprijs op NIQUONS! (Parijs) en de Juryprijs op het BrusselsPFF hebben gewonnen — met name geprezen om het acteerwerk. Mijn laatste twee contracten waren als performer/regisseur van *Qu’est-ce que tu racontes?* op SG tijdens het Fig Fest in Brussel, en als actrice/presentatrice in instructievideo’s in opdracht van Culture Moves Europe en geregisseerd door Marie Fages. In een vorige leven heb ik ook zes jaar lesgegeven aan de universiteit, eerst als doctoraatsstudent en later als docent — onder meer in Bath, Bristol en Cambridge in Engeland. Momenteel steek ik al mijn energie in het opstarten van mijn artistieke carrière als actrice, het deelnemen aan castings en, op langere termijn, het werken aan mijn eigen projecten: een documentaire over queer conceptie, de performance Qu’est-ce que tu racontes? en het theaterstuk Adulte pour la deuxième fois, in voorbereiding.
