About me
I am a professional Cinematographer/ Director of
Photography based in Kazakhstan, specializing in
narrative visual storytelling, frame composition, and light
design. Grounded in classic cinematic traditions and
analog film aesthetics, my work spans narrative short
films, visual art exhibitions, and international film festival
delegations. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in
Cinematography from the Kazakh National University of
Arts, developing a rigorous foundation in camera
operation, optical theory, set lighting safety, and crew
management. Also I was selected as the chief
photographer representing a cinema delegation at the
Cannes Film Festival during my undergraduate studies,
documenting international industry proceedings and
networking within the global festival ecosystem. Across
my career, I have served as Director of Photography on 14
short narrative films, developing a diverse filmography
across drama, psychological narrative, and visual
experimentation. In addition to motion picture
cinematography, I maintain an active practice in fine art
photography, which directly informs my cinematic
framing and lighting design. I authored and mounted a
curated solo exhibition featuring 50 original photographic
works. The gallery collection explored light-and-shadow
geometry, portraiture, and atmospheric landscapes,
demonstrating my unified artistic voice across both still
and moving images.
