Alejo Maglio is a cinematographer from Buenos Aires, currently based in Madrid. With a background in photography and visual arts, his work blends natural light, texture, and human presence — shaped by a sensitivity to the subtle and the real.
Since beginning his career in 2004, he has worked across narrative film, documentary, and advertising. As a self-taught cinematographer, his approach grows from hands-on experience, artistic experimentation, and an ongoing exploration of painting, cinematography, and the philosophy of the image.
His feature films include The Student (dir. Santiago Mitre), which earned him the ADF Award for Best Cinematography; The Delinquents (dir. Rodrigo Moreno), which premiered in the "Un Certain Regard" section at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and received Best Cinematography awards from The Argentine Academy of Cinematography Arts and Sciences(ACCA) and the Havana Film Festival; and the Disney+ miniseries Nada (dir. Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat), starring Luis Brandoni and Robert De Niro. He is currently collaborating with filmmaker Wang Bing on a documentary project.
