About me
I am Sudanese-German-Swedish and fluent in Arabic, English, and German.
Having lived in Sudan, Germany, Nepal, and, since 2013, the Netherlands, my life has become a vibrant tapestry of cultures, identities, and experiences. The way I look, speak, and carry myself often draws attention and curiosity—something I’ve learned to embrace as a strength.
While there are many successful and well-known South Sudanese models, I carry a unique heritage that reflects the complex diversity within Sudan itself. My maternal grandmother is South Sudanese, and my maternal grandfather is North Sudanese. On my father’s side, my Sudanese heritage traces through Saudi Arabia before settling in Sudan, and my paternal grandmother is German-Swedish. This rich, interwoven background reflects the multifaceted identity of girls and women in North Sudan—and it’s that diversity I wish to represent with pride and authenticity.
I was scouted unexpectedly while enjoying an ice cream at Baskin-Robbins, which led to my first modeling experience. The team from Verse Magazine discovered me and featured me on the cover of their August–September 2011 issue, along with a feature inside. That moment sparked something powerful in me—a passion for self-expression and visibility.
However, after moving to the Netherlands, I went through a traumatic experience that deeply affected my confidence. I lost myself for a while and focused more on pleasing others than honoring my true self. Over time, I realized I had stepped away from my passions—especially those rooted in creativity and expression.
Coming from a family with strong artistic and humanitarian values, I’ve always seen expression as more than just a personal outlet; it’s a form of resistance, healing, and connection. Now, I’m on a journey to reconnect with that part of myself—and in doing so, I want to inspire other girls from Sudan, particularly those who feel confined by societal expectations.
I want to represent Sudan as a united country and empower Sudanese girls and women to embrace their uniqueness—to know that being different is not being rebellious, and that there is power in self-love, independence, and self-expression. There is nothing wrong with looking different, being sexy, standing tall, or dreaming big.
