About me
Hans Hylkema is a director and screenwriter of feature films, television dramas, and (music) documentaries. His best-known feature films are The Man Who Makes Me, Oeroeg, and Julia's Secret. He received the DDG Award for the most remarkable directorial achievement of 2010 for Den Uyl and the Lockheed Affair. He also co-wrote the screenplay for this production with Ger Beukenkamp, which won the LIRA Screenplay Prize in 2013. Lead actors Joop Keesmaat (Joop Den Uyl) and Catherine Ten Bruggencate (Queen Juliana) both received the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision Award for Best Male and Female Lead Actress/TV Drama in the 2010/2011 Season.
