About me
Dear filmmakers,
My name is Maryna Donska. I am a television director from Ukraine.
I am now staying in the Netherlands for last 2 years. During this period I've worked for 2 feature documentary film productions as an assistant director and a translator on set. Now as projects are over, I am am opened for something new.
In Ukraine I’ve spent 15 years working for entertainment television productions as a Director, and have a broad experience in Multicam shooting, editing, television documentary production.
Of course I have ambitions, but understanding how the market works, I am fine with working on positions lower, that I had in Ukraine. I love being responsible, it keeps me fit, and my brain focused. I love creative tasks, and organising the filming processes.
In my perfect world I would prefer to direct or to be a creative producer of a small production, but I am also good in assisting, I can combine filming as well as a b-roll camera, also can be a production manager, to stay at least in my field.
My hobby, which is helping me to earn some money from time to time is a photography, and I am planning to evolve in that field.

I also worked as an editor for around 10 years using Final Cut, Adobe Premiere and DaVinci. I definitely know how to build a story. Good in editing stage performances, as I’ve been doing it for 5+ years (Ukraine got Talent, So You think you can dance Ukraine, XFactor Ukraine, Eurovision contest for Ukraine)
My strong sides are attention to details, empathy, soft confidence, calmness, sense of humour (I want to believe), I always prefer to discuss things with a team before giving the tasks
My weak sides are: I am very self critical, which sometimes takes my confidence away, but I know how to control it. As a person, when it is not about the work, I am an introvert, my batteries charges in loneliness.
I would be happy to attend your team in any role which seems suitable for you, as I have to build it from the beginning. I am up to it and easygoing with smaller tasks as well.
