Nicola Balhuizen Hepp

An award winning choreographer and movement director, Nicola founded and leads The Movers. With an extensive background in dance, she holds a Master in Choreography and New Media with a focus on screendance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. She has received several scholarships and grants, both for her work and for research into combining dance and film. Nicola has a substantial track record creating choreography for film and as a casting director, working for brands such as T-mobile, Unilever, ING bank, Bols, Google, Ziggo and agencies and production houses like Halal, Holy Fools, Cake Film&Photography, Pink Rabbit, ALFRED, TBWA/Neboko, Czar Amsterdam, HERC, DPPLR, New Ams Film Company and Studio/Studio. Directors she has collaborated with include Anton Corbijn, Michiel van Erp, Diederik van Rooijen, Nina Aaldering, Joost Biesheuvel en Ayla Spaans. She also directs her own dance films, which have won awards and nominations at Leeds International Film Festival, Alternative Film Festival Toronto, Underexposed Film Festival, Dance on Screen Festival and CineManiacs among others.
