About me
After studying philosophy at the University of Antwerp for a year, Jos Meijers (The Hague, 1982) studied Audiovisual Design at the St. Joost Academy of Art and Design in Breda. There he graduated cum laude in 2007 with the fiction film “4 Dagen”. With this film he showed his unconventional vision on film and film narration.
With “My field” (2010) Jos Meijers continued his distinctive way of filmmaking. By attaching great importance to the unity of place, time and action, he seems to keep everything simple in this film – with only two characters, one scene and one location – but nothing could be further from the truth; a rich layering is revealed with calmness and the film raises more questions than it answers.
Jos Meijers is currently working as an independent filmmaker, freelance director and editor and as a teacher at various HBO courses.
