My name is Bobby Voeten, 29 years old, running a one-man company called CROP.
CROP stands for: Creations Rely On Possibilities. Originally I named my company like that because the crop-tool is a very common tool used in the premier image and video production software.
Later I gave CROP a double meaning by using the name as an acronym.
CROP produces 2d animations in all kinds of forms. Mostly CROP focus on work that combines text and graphics, like in animated infographics.
The most important thing is that my work is distinctive and that it is both inspirational and communicative. I'm fascinated about the possibilities of hand-animation and keyframing. Doing it the “old fashioned†way gives my work his own unique personality.

Having fun at work is very important to me. And that I can show who I am and what I stand for. I want people to fall for my products and say that they find my work recognizable and distinctive. I don't believe in repeating tricks and throwing all kinds of effects and sauces over my work to impress. Animations from 50 years ago can be as beautiful and impressive as animations from today. It is not so much about the technique and the technical gadgets, but about the feeling. That's why I also like 2d animation and the basis on which animation is based. 3d animation can add something to my product, but the base and look & feel remain 2d. I stand for authenticity and aesthetics.
I also know very well about myself what I can do and what I can still grow into. I know what it takes to reach a top level and that is hard work and never being satisfied. Animation is first and foremost a passion for me, not a way to make money.
