About me
After studying journalism, Rene started studying Audio Visual Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2007. His interest in the documentary genre is growing and this is reflected in the second year in which he develops the plan for his first film; Hard on the Hall. The legendary Energiehal forms the basis of the film, it is the place where the seed was planted for today's gabber scene. Two years later, after his internship with editor Albert Markus, he graduated with Hard voor de Hal. A year later, Hard voor de Hal was screened at several festivals, including the IDFA Play festival and the Goshort festival in Nijmegen. In Nijmegen, the film was nominated within the Dutch competition for the Go Short Award, for Best Dutch Film and the Go Short Audience Award.
