About me
I'm a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer. I like to tell stories visually, more then creating a narrative based on text. I try to create an experience of what we want to communicate. Small gestures and expressions tell me more than words. Especially in a world where our thinking is dominant, I am interested in experiencing things with our body and senses. Focusing on people's physical and emotional experiences. Like in my movie 'Cocoon' which shows a sensitive side of young boxers preparing for a match. Or in my last film 'WITH ALL THERE IS' (International title: 'Dancers') about people with Parkinson's disease who take up the challenge to dance. Both films had their premiere at the Dutch Film Festival and where shown on Dutch television.

I am socially involved and make easy and sincere contact with people. When I film I can be invisible and at the same time shoot an intimate and personal image. I always assume to tell a story through the power of image and sound, which lingers longer than just conveying information. I am reliable, committed and precise. In editing I think outside the lines, rhythmically and think about sound in a creative way. And I make clear choices to make the story as strong as possible. I like to work together and I coach people as a teacher.
