In 1992 BEN SOMBOGAART received the Golden Calf for Best Direction for the feature film HET ZAKMES (THE PENKNIFE). In 2000 JEAN VAN DE VELDE received the Golden Calf for Best Direction for the feature film LEK (LEAK). Both films were edited by Herman P Koerts.
In 2007, Herman received the Golden Calf for Best Editing at the Dutch Film Festival, for his work on the feature film CRUSADE IN JEANS (CRUSADE)
FIVE FINGERS was Herman's first Hollywood production in 2005 and was edited in Los Angeles. Drifter, Bear and Death Race 2 followed later.
Herman has a long and close collaboration with director BEN SOMBOGAART. This collaboration is very successful. Their films received many awards and were often a commercial success. The highlight of this collaboration was the nomination for an Oscar 'Best Picture Foreign Language' with the feature film De Tweeling.
