My name is Muriel Kruize, I am a recent graduate of the MSc Visual Ethnography from Leiden University and aspiring documentary filmmaker. I have created and produced two short ethnographic films, 'Zeemanshuis' and 'Shifting Sands', both which explore topics of gentrification, displacement, overdevelopment, (emotional) attachment to place, and resilience. I am dedicated to experimenting with video and sound as a way to inspire political conversation. I aim to quietly amplify the voices of working class people as they navigate, and resist, profound and often damaging changes to their physical, social, and cultural landscapes.

While I have academic experience in anthropological research, filmmaking, audiovisual methods, and post-production, I am currently searching for an internship or entry-level position in an organization or creative collective. I hope to gain hands-on, first-hand experience working and collaborating with a team of engaging and diverse professionals.
