I am Roan, a filmmaker with a strong focus on cinematography and light. My fascination for images started behind the lamp: I first followed the lighting assistance course at the NFA, where I learned how powerfully light can direct, feel and tell a story. After that I delved further into visual language during a short cinematography course at MetFilm School in London.

Besides my DOP projects I work a lot as a gaffer, something that constantly sharpens my vision as a maker. I believe that atmosphere is often more important than dialogue that you can say with light and composition what you don't have to say. In every project I look for sincerity, for an image that sticks and a sincere story that I want to help strengthen and tell!
