My monologue, which I wrote and performed as my graduation project, Down the Hole, was performed in Berlin and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025, where it was well received and won an award.
"Testosterone," directed by Golden Leopard winner Sina Ateian Dena, is my first feature film role. It's expected to be released at major film festivals in 2026.

Ilja van Ravels is a Dutch actor based in Berlin and her native Amsterdam. At the age of twelve, Ilja began acting in musical theater productions and later studied at De Toneelmeester and the Film Actors Academy in Amsterdam (2018–2021), before graduating with a bachelor's degree in Screen Acting from the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin.
During her studies, Ilja appeared in numerous short films in both the Netherlands and Germany, and also wrote and directed two of her own projects. Her graduation play, "Down the Hole," received positive reviews and an award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025.
Ilja sees acting as a space for complete openness, and she cultivates this quality through Meisner technique training with Sylvia Schwarz. Ilja speaks fluent Dutch and English and has a good command of German (always developing ;)).
