Hi!

I am an independent freelance film maker (director) and researcher looking for research jobs in TV or documentary.

My most recent documentary Mijn Oma is Activist was screened on national television on VPRO amongst other film festivals, and won the award for best debut documentary at the Bridge of Peace Film festival 2024.

I have a rich background in ethnographic research as well as market research. I have spent four months in Brazil as a researcher, interviewing local communities and doing qualitative research. I hold a bachelor in cultural anthropology and a master in visual anthropology, having directed two documentaries.

Due to the fact that I have also worked in market research, I have acquired strong empathetic skills in combination with effective interviewing techniques. My studies have added a cultural sensitivity, allowing me to navigate between different communities with diverse cultural backgrounds. My background as a filmmaker adds a layer of creativity.

I can interview individuals concerning most topics and speak fluently Dutch, English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Research topics I have experience in include: Tourism, identity, activism, consumption, segregation, neighbourhood development, gentrification, colonial legacies and mental health.

I am open to most research topics, even those I do not hold experience in.

Let me know if I can help you in any way creatively or with research :)
