My name is Daan de Jong. I am 22 years old. I live in Schagerbrug with my parents and two sisters. I followed the Audiovisual education at the Mediacollege in Amsterdam. I also graduated for this education. In addition, I followed elective courses in Cinema4D and editing.
Before I went to the media college I was busy making my own videos. I got this inspiration after I saw the film Ted in 2012. In this film they used a technique called motion capture to bring Ted to life. Because of this I started learning Blender. I made a YouTube channel called Vfx Star where I made 3D effects, I also uploaded tutorials for this. By doing this I became very familiar with programs such as Blender, After effects, Cinema4D and Premiere pro.
During my time at the Mediacollege I did a total of 1 year of internship at 2 different companies. For the first half year I did an internship at a startup company called RocketShipTrips. Here I mainly worked with Unreal engine and Touchdesigner. My second internship period I did at the company SKIPP. This is a creative video agency. During this internship I helped with filming behind the scenes content and editing videos.
Besides that I also worked as a graphic designer at a company called Heiba Service. During my work here I learned a lot about premiere pro but I mainly learned how to process feedback for different people. This was also my first office job. I learned how to deal with colleagues and I learned how to think along to help the company.
