I am working on a queer MENA short film in collaboration with Meervaart Filmlab and the Netherlands Film Academy.

For this film I am urgently looking for someone for the role of Osman Amca. The film follows Yusuf, a queer man with a MENA (Middle Eastern-North African) background, who is looking for a physiotherapist for his lower back pain. He ends up with Osman Amca, a family friend of a girlfriend, and expects to meet a conservative, everyday Kurdish/Turkish man. To his surprise, Osman Amca turns out to be a spiritually minded man, comparable to a hoca or shaman from Kurdish and Turkish villages. During an acupressure session, they discover Yusuf's emotional and spiritual blocks related to his childhood as a queer person and the loss of his beloved. This spiritual experience and their intergenerational conversation mark the beginning of a new, unexpected friendship.
