Having lived in South Africa, Zimbabwe, America and Netherlands, I am a seeker of fun, adventure and curiosities. From the smallest detail to the largest of creations, I am fascinated by textures, colour and layers that collide together to help tell stories deeply, lovingly and with care.
In 2008 I completed my BA in Film & Media studies and a year later my Honours Degree in English Literature at University of Cape Town. But it is living in the big wide world that has truly taught me about people and how best to dress their stories. My love for sourcing secondhand and vintage treasures with a backstory helped to magnify my tendency for storytelling in the film world.
I am excitable, curious and hugely dependable. I will scrounge through seventy boxes of trinkets to find just the right one. The weird, the wonderful, the macabre: it all intrigues me.
My strength lies in situating myself as an enjoyable and un-replaceable team member. I have a good eye for details and enjoy finding creative solutions to on set art department conundrums. My role as art director and props master has exercised and honed my people-skills, organisational processes and an understanding of the depth that good props and set dressing can bring to any director’s vision.
