My name is Derk Visser. when i was young, i played in school theatre, i won a acting competition at age 10. I was born in the Netherlands but we moved to French speaking part of Belgium when i was 14.
in 2002 i moved to Indonesia ( long holiday and fell in love with the country) i decided to live there. In 2005 and 2006 i was cast fot some corporate commercials. The first big budget commercial was "Bentoel Biru" ( shooting in Bali) after an other big budget commercial followed by a tv series " Dapur campur" as lead role. After the series was completed i decided to go back to Belgium for a break, what became 6 years. In 2016 i went back to Indonesia and multiple castings and projects came on my way. HBO series, Blockbuster film, A few big budget commercials, series for Disney Plus Hotstar, a film bought by Amazone Prime , another HBO series. a big bidget commerciial with Joe Taslim ( Fast & Furious 6, Mortal Combat etc) I love acting, it has become in the beginning a real passion and a way to express yourself. Each project has tought me new techniques, I never stop learning from each production and i never will stop learning. Now, i feel acting is like a profession for me. i learn the script by heart, put my self in that character ( with my style of acting, for it to look as natural as possible) and i also love improvisations. I like to call it : the art of acting , without acting. I am also a martial artist (i reached one of the highest titles in Pencak Silat, "Pendekar") So for a few projects i also created the fight choregraphy.
Now i am in Belgium, and i thought, lets see what there is possible here. I speak fluently Dutch, French, English, German, Indonesian, and my Spanish is good. there are still 2 productions in post-production: HBO sereis and the film for Amazon Prime. One of the films i play in was also aired on Netflix and shown in theatres in the Netherlands " This Earth Of Mankind" . My first HBO series " Grisse " started as HBO Asia, and later was shown globally on HBO. (Now, it is still possible to watch it on HBO GO). Europe and even the USA.
