Documentary 'Everything of value is defenseless' (2021) A documentary about 81-year-old Gerard who has been a translator all his life but would have preferred to be a writer. The film is about the inner struggle of a maker and all the struggles that come with it. Documentary 'Sight' (2020) A commissioned documentary about the vulnerable world that lies behind drug crime among young people. The conflict of both young people and parents is exposed in this film, because what do you do as a parent when you find out what your own child has done? Or how do you get out of this world as a young person if you can't tell the truth? The film was used by Bureau Halt. Documentary series 'We' (2019) A series commissioned by Kunstloc Brabant about and for the Bossche working-class district. Because how do you get local residents who never go to the theater to go?

Karen (1989) is a documentary maker whose films focus on the universal stories that connect us as human beings. Her own signature, making someone's inner world palpable, is clearly recognizable in everything she makes. She graduated as a filmmaker at the art academy in Tilburg in 2012 and often makes productions for social and cultural organizations. She also worked for the online human interest department of the KRO-NCRV. In 2019 she founded her own company Sturmfrei Films with which she made her debut documentary 'Everything of value is defenseless' (2021). He was chosen by 2doc.nl as documentary talent in the talent program 'Makers of tomorrow'.
