Ollie Paterson is a director, cinematographer and lighting designer based in Rotterdam, where he is a part of SHED, a visual arts collective based in Zuid. In his individual practice, he collaborates with different types of underrepresented communities, making work that uses both accessible and experimental forms to create a hybrid mode. His work is aimed at a wide audience whilst utlilising poetry and its methodology as the roots for visual experimentation.

To him, sociology + poetry = filmmaker and he hopes to make art that has actionable and tangible effects on underrepresented peoples and issues, starting with building fair, inclusive teams and ecologically considerate productions, to crafting stories that have a poetic resonance.
