The Indian feature film VANAJA remains a milestone for me because of the beautiful story and its visualization, which I am still proud of. The films I made with British director Simon Rumley are a memorable variety of themes, technical and artistic challenges, and poignant studies of characters on the edge of sanity.
My interest in history finds room for dramatic and visual exploration in the docu-drama series by director Richard Lopez, in which we filmed recreations of, among others, a Roman emperor, the founder of Playboy magazine, a charismatic murderer, and the freedom fighters of the American Revolution.
My documentary work for Dutch productions finds fertile ground for poetic approaches in, among others, Een Gevleugelde Herinnering by director Ida Does, and The Photograph by director Sherman de Jesus.

Narrative storytelling: although I have been practicing this profession for many years, I approach every new project with enthusiasm and curiosity, where listening is just as important as offering ideas.
Atmosphere and mood: lighting is particularly influential in creating a mood in every scene of a film. But is it the right one? And is it consistently appropriate throughout the entire film? These questions are very important to me, because I believe that by successfully achieving this, viewers will much more easily believe in what they see and experience.
I also have great respect for the power and possibilities that natural light offers. Power, because of its credibility and beauty. And possibilities, to respond quickly with minimal technical interventions and footprint, unobtrusively and reassuringly.

Ik gebruik op mijn documentaire projecten de lightweight combinatie van mijn eigen Sony FX3 met 24-70mm zoomlens, DJI RS4 Pro gimbal, en Steadicam Pilot stabilisator. Mijn langzaam gemotoriseerde slider is inzetbaar voor time-lapse shots en detail shots van dichtbij. Verder heb ik een DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone.
