“The first thing I noticed while I was watching Ashes to Ashes was how good everything looked.”

Ashes to Ashes is an experience designed to challenge the viewer to distinguish what is real from what is not. Ultimately the film questions if there is, in fact, a clear dividing line between reality and fiction. Aren’t we all living in our own world?
Collaborating as Clement & Sanôu since 2004, Eddy van der Laan and Pepijn Rozing focus in their work on creating a synergy between all visual elements to a production - from scenography to costume design to lighting design. Rooting their work in a dramaturgical concept developed collaboratively with directors, choreographers, curators or producers, Clement & Sanôu aim to create comprehensive audience experiences.
Clement & Sanôu are living on love, art, storytelling, and craftsmanship (and a lot of coffee and vinyl).
