My name is Sem Bruin. I have been fascinated by images since I was a child. I am always amazed by the things you can do with images. My grandfather and father are artists. That is why I have always been involved with art since I was a child, especially drawing but also making moving images. As a result, I have been involved with making films all my life. As a child, I made stop-motion films with my own toys. Later, I bought a film camera. When I go somewhere now, I film everything that happens. From a young age, I wanted to work in television/film, and that is still the case. What fascinates me now is editing. I spend a lot of time on it in my spare time. That is partly why I am now studying MIC at the HvA.

With digital art I try to mix reality and classical art in drawings. Playing with proportions and reality. Women with animal heads for example. Sometimes I look at a photo or outside and think: it would have been nice if this had been there. For example, I always have the image in my head of a big man swimming naked through the canal when I walk along a canal.
