Marijn van der Ploeg is a filmmaker and producer with a great passion for documentary. She uses film as a medium to highlight people and bring stories together. She followed Audiovisual Design and the Honors Program at the Willem de Kooning academy. In addition to directing, she worked for a while at the Rotterdam production company Volya Films. Where she worked on various fiction and documentary projects. Her films have been screened at various festivals including the IFFR, Arab Film Festival Rotterdam and D&AD New Blood Festival. In 2018 she won a Wood Pencil and a spot at the D&AD New Blood Academy in London. Together with Esmée van Loon, she is the owner of Stichting KamerFilm. She also works on various social and cultural projects such as De Buurtcamping Utrecht, De Bike Bar and De Volmolen Amersfoort.
