The Cuban Alicia Muñoz Reyes came to the Netherlands at the age of sixteen. After her studies in Cultural and Social Education, she decided to follow her passion and apply for the Scenario course at the Netherlands Film Academy. Three of her screenplays have been filmed: Trends 2088 (2014, David-Jan Bronsgeest), Chimera (2014, Gonzalo Fernandez) and Februari Hymne (2015, Malu Janssen). Alicia often explores themes of desire and alienation as she writes. The dark side of man intrigues her. In addition to writing, she has performed various duties on film sets. Her story Gemini was recently published in the collection of short stories Unexpected. With her scenarios/films, Alicia wants to invite the viewer to take a look at special, strange, dreamed, hoped or frightening worlds.
