Graduated from ArtEZ Theater School in Arnhem. Self-employed as an art director, costume designer and stylist, and sometimes as an actress.
I work as a freelance Art Director in the arts. For example, I develop concepts for photography series, but I also work as a program maker for artistic events and initiatives. I always work from a well-founded substantive concept, and from there my imagination starts dreaming. I always have 1001 ideas, and as an Art Director I know how to turn them into reality. I go for inescapable art that doesn't need a caption. It must grab. I am anything but good in thought and execution.
As a costume designer/stylist I like to push the boundaries; there where the cliché fades and it becomes really interesting. I am not satisfied with 'just real' or 'correct', but strive for an image that you have to keep looking at. I also have a preference for a fierce play of colours, asymmetry and a secret crush on an entire outfit in one colour.
A very own movement language, both as a dancer and as an actress. Favorite (and quality) as an actress is the magnification of stereotypes, tragicomedy and comic absurdism.
I am an absolute jack-of-all-trades: I also work as a theatre/dance teacher, production assistant, photographer and blogger. It is precisely the variety and the fact that I can express my creativity in several disciplines and through different media that makes me happy.
It also makes me a good all-rounder. Conceptually strong.
Creative with a flexible brain and stubborn view of the world! Irony reigns supreme in my own work.
