Matthijs de Raad learned journalistic skills in Zwolle, where he studied journalism. His substantive and analytical skills were further developed during the master's program in International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. He learned 'the trade' while making short video reports for the news agencies Novum Nieuws and ANP. Over the years his experience grew and his vision became clear:
