I am a Visual Anthropologist from Barcelona, moved to Amsterdam nearly three years ago, and currently directing In-Edit Amsterdam, a yearly music documentary film festival, which combines screenings with live music and industry meetings at Westergasterrein.
Through Cassette Productions, founded together with Anna Chvartchenko, we are producing events always related to music and film, so it is In-Edit Amsterdam.
Furthermore, music documentary filmmaking is my work field and I stated it making the short documentary film for my final project at Goldsmiths College, University of London about the Rockabilly scene of Barcelona (http://www.vimeo.com/43991634). At the present I am researching about the Amsterdam music scene to make a new documentary focused on the upcoming musicians and the big business they represent in the city.
I worked as a film curator and video producer for the Vasto Siren Fest, Arts & Music Festival, that held its first edition in July 2014 in Vasto, Italy (http://www.sirenfest.com/). I have produced videos for the FNAC section “La Bolsa o la Vida” (http://tiendas.fnac.es/el-triangle/categoria/la-bolsa-o-la-vida/) that promotes renown characters of the local and international cultural scene.
Regarding my technical skills, I can operate with a semi-professional video camera or DSLR photo camera, edit video and audio on the Final Cut Studio Suite (Final Cut Pro, Color, Soundtrack, Motion). I am focused on improving my post-production hands on with After Effects.
My various professional experiences and training in Social and Cultural Anthropology and field work reinforced my open minded, empathetic and outgoing personality. What helps me to be good at social contexts: I get along very well doing social research, interviewing people, managing personnel, who get confident with me easily. Very good organizational skills, problem solver, efficiency and hard work would be also strengths of my worker side.
