Kurt Vandendriessche, born in Roeselare in 1975, completed his Dramatic Arts studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and further studied theater design at the POPOK in Antwerp.
He started his career in puppet and street theater and on various television and film sets, played a regular role (Fréderique Bastiaens) in the TV1 series "Thuis" and the VTM series "Spoed" (Tom Gijsbrecht) - can also be seen on the Dutch channel TROS.
He recently played the leading role in the film “Welcome Home†by director Tom Heene, which was nominated in 2012 as “Best Debut Film†at the Venice Film Festival and the Montreal World Film Festival.
Over time he develops a great passion for performance and contemporary dance and theatre, both on and off stage.
He created several duos including “Map Me†with Charlotte Vanden Eynde, “A bras qu’a d†Abramovic†with Dolores Bouckaert and “Bringin’ Home the Bacon†with Kasper Vandenberghe. He worked with Jan Decorte on “Cirque Danton†and with Emio Greco/PC for “Addio alla Fine†. He played several times in performances by Jan Fabre - “Parrots & Guinea Pigs†, “The Orgy of Tolerance†, “Prometheus: Landscape II†and “Tragedy of a Friendship†. In the future, he will also appear in his 24-hour project “Mount Olympus†(2015).
