Immediately after graduating from the Dutch Film and Television Academy in 2009, I started working for the VPRO docuseries 'De Beagle'. The Beagle was a very unique and challenging project, working for almost 10 consecutive months in all kinds of weather and working conditions on board.
I am adventurous, love to learn about different cultures, people, and research different subjects. I made my first independent documentary in 2004, while traveling solo through Madagascar for four months. I then did research, wrote a film plan, and immediately filmed and edited it in order to apply for the film academy. Cinematography is a great creative challenge for me, and I find it a great pleasure to work side-by-side with other filmmakers and to translate his or her ideas into images as beautifully and strikingly as possible.
