Egbert van Wyngaarden (1967) grew up as a child in Germany before going to school in the Netherlands and studying law.

He worked as a producer for the Avignon theater festival for several years and worked as the business manager of the theater group International Visual Theatre, a company of deaf-mute actors centered around the stage actress Emmanuelle Laborit. After an MBA in media management, he produced international television series at Gaumont Televison in Paris and internet entertainment at Kirch New Media in Munich.

In 2003 he decided to indulge his passion for writing and has been working as a freelance screenwriter in Paris and Munich ever since.
