Biography
Patrick van den Dorpel (16-01-1984) has been involved in acting since childhood.
It started at school with some theater assignments, by participating in the school musicals and by following the theater courses at 'de ambition' in Middelburg. By working on various theater productions his drive grew so that he wrote, directed and played a theater production himself at the age of 14. The turnout for the production was great so that Patrick continued with the subject of the production but now in the film 'Liefde zit van binnen' which he made together with Rene Poerstamper. After that he toured the whole of the Netherlands with the theater production 'RU-READY' by the Amsterdam theater group DELTA with Marit van Bohemen, Roger Goudsmit and Raymi Sambo in the leading roles and directed by Anis de Jong.
By following the training at the Acting Studio in The Hague, he was determined to become an actor.
During his education, his passion for singing was also born. He took singing lessons with Ken Weekenstro in The Hague and participated in various small musical productions such as 'an example of passion' with the help of Jimmy Hutchinson. After that, Patrick started working at Center Parcs where he provided live shows and devised various activities. In his spare time, he made a feature film 'Choosing or Sharing' together with Rene Poerstamper and a short film 'Happy Valentine', he was seen in the LASSIE magic rice commercial, he worked on a teaser for a new TMF program and he was seen as an (eminent) extra in Grijpstra en de Gier, Spoorloos kwijt and Onderweg naar Morgen.
Acting, that's what he wants. Preferably every day. In addition to writing scripts and making short films, he followed the workshop 'the actors studio' by RJB-STUDIO, a camera acting workshop by Erik de Bruyn and he registered with many casting agencies. At the moment he is an actor with Merlin Entertainment (Madame Tussauds) and with MindMix, which in collaboration with the anti-discrimination agency plays shows throughout the country and debates the topics from the show. Since January 2013, Patrick lives in Amsterdam to be even more involved with what makes him happy!
