During my Bachelor Degree in Social Communication at PUC-MG, Brazil, I worked as an art director for the university TV channel creating promos and TV spots. After the graduation I founded a design studio (Estudio Sabotage) with colleagues to explore and experience the interaction between different media such as video, photography, print, web and motion design. I then moved to São Paulo where I lived for three years working for a spot film productions as the director’s assistant and post-production supervisor.
I recently concluded Postgraduate Degree in Visual Communication and Multimedia at IUAV University of Venice, while working with type, video, graphic design and new media. During this period in Italy I have won awards at film festivals, being one of them a short-film Crisalide commissioned by Regione Veneto. In 2010, I participated to Venice Biennale of Architecture with YEGO!, a video documentary about Rwanda.
My postgraduate thesis focused on type design, retrieving renaissance typefaces from Francesco Griffo and recreating them as a sans-serif typeface for contemporary publishing. Currently I have been collaborating as a free lancer for the new design collective Undiciundici.
