Ray Kril was born in New Jersey, USA. For the past 20 years he has been living and working in the Netherlands. Kril has had more than 30 years media production experience as a cameraperson, editor, director and producer. He has lived and worked in the media in the USA, Netherlands, Guyana and Suriname with production experiences in at least a dozen other countries including: Cuba, Romania, Albania, India and England. Kril€™s production experiences include film and multi media programs in sports, culture, environment, corporate information, drama and current affairs. Over the past years Kril has concentrated his media efforts with the Guiana Shield Media Project (GSMP) whivh had offices in Guyana and the Netherlands. He has been the International Coordinator of GSMP responsible for multi media production and training of web sites and films. The GSMP is an environmental media project with a focus on the Guiana Shield region of South America. The primary objective is to produce media information for regional and international distribution about social, cultural and environmental issues in the Guiana Shield territory which includes Guyana, Suriname, Brazil, Venezuela and French Guiana. Over a10 year period several international productions were produced by GSMP. Kril was founder of Black Eye International media cooperative. BEI has been active with commercial and documentary projects world wide via agents in the USA as well as documentaries about art and sports. During the past five years Kril has been on the faculty of Saxion University of Applied Sciences with the Academy of Art and Technology in Enschede, Netherlands. He has been teaching documentary production as well as media and anthropology. He has also been active with the production via the production bureau of Saxion. Kril has received several international awards for his films which have been shown in over 60 countries world wide.
