about me
The profession of photographer comes from my father who is a photojournalist. He was the only Iraqi photographer who went to Arab countries during the war in the sixties and seventies to document the inhumanity of war.
Since then, my interest in photography has broadened. This led me to study graphic arts at the art academy in Baghdad. After graduating, I worked as a photojournalist in my native Iraq.
In the Netherlands, I've had many opportunities to further develop my talent. I've taken several courses in photography and camera journalism.
In 2002, I published a photography book with the subtitle "1001 Nights of Waiting" about the lives of asylum seekers and those who have been waiting the longest for their stay in the Netherlands.
In addition, I gained experience as a camera journalist from the Netherlands for an Arabic channel.
I also made several short films that were shown at the Arab Film Festival in
Rotterdam and Abu Dhabi film festival.
At present time I am as a photography , filmmaker, and artist.
