Allel El-Berkani (Oran, 1958) is a Belgian director. El-Berkani directed in the Netherlands, among other things, the soap opera Goudkust for Joop van den Ende, the series De Praktijk for the EO, and the film De Engelbewaarder for the KRO. In 1994 he won with his short film Mr. Sunday International Awards (including at the Turin Film Festival). In 2006 he directed the fictional series Emma for One and Sylvester Productions, a "daily dedicated fiction": fiction in which one socially relevant theme is central (in this case "equal opportunities" between men and women). Currently, Allel EL Berkani has his own production house “Newframe Productions”. El-Berkani was also the driving force behind the media workshop Flying Carpet vzw. Flying Carpet organized the MIRA actor training program together with the VRT. Flying Carpet also made two short films “-13°” and “Black and White”.
