Urban (UrbanBendanon) was born on August 5, 1984 in Rotterdam. He grew up in Amsterdam. Although his name seems to speak for itself, Urban was particularly interested in making Hip Hop.
At the age of 16 he started rapping and three years later this was expanded to making beats.
Urban's career started as a solo mc and after that he was in a rap group called 'Alpha & Omega', where he mainly took care of the beats. Groupwise Urban experienced a clear growth and also developed the idea to release his material on CD. After 4 years he left the group, for various reasons.
Urban was ready for a new challenge; he wanted to share his own story with the world. This resulted in the mini album: “Uit de Hoge Hoed”.
When he was done with this, Urban decided, before dropping his mixtape, to release a promo EP first, aptly named: “Tussuhneuz en Lippuh door”.
Both mixtapes contain beats from Black H productions, A-Flex, Mr. Burgs, Marv and Urban himself. They are also supplemented with guest performances by artists such as MC Jaja, Mr. Burgs and The Holy Circle.
In addition, Urban has performed on various stages, including the Uitmarkt, Melkweg, Tivoli, Hedon, Bitterzoet, Occi and Tuschinsky on behalf of the Postcode Lottery.
That Urban is at home in several markets, he once again proves in the radio and TV program 'Uptown in da House', where, alongside Mr. Burgs and IllSkillz presented the partystyle block.
In short, whatever audience he has in front of him, Urban always knows how to touch his listeners.
This has not gone unnoticed outside the Netherlands either. For example, he contributed to the first international hip-hop school in Suriname, and recorded a jingle for it.
The versatile Urban is full of inspiration and plans and we can expect a lot more from this talented artist. For example, he plans to launch his debut album “Misenplace” soon, in which he wants to show as an artist and musician that good preparation can make the difference as an artist in today's fast times. Expect an album that is full of everyday situations, but also from the perspective of an artist characterized by uncertainty due to the ever-changing music industry in which he operates. A sincere musical quest for recognition and prestige.
