A darkly comedic, original play set on Jupiter’s icy moon Europa. A crew of scientists faces paranoia, mortality, and existential dread while drilling for alien life. CrOak! is a black comedy written by Marte van der Linden and Jasper Landman, performed by English Theatre Utrecht (ETU) in July 2024 at Theater Kikker. The story takes place on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, where a team of astronauts is drilling for signs of alien life. As isolation, failure, and the pressure of scientific discovery mount, the group spirals into paranoia and existential crisis. The performance combined satire, sci-fi, and psychological collapse in a stylized ensemble setting.
