synopsis A documentary about a 22-year old boy, Joakim, who in a schizophrenic frenzy ends up killing his own mom, due to the hallucinations and voices in his head. Now his siblings, who witnessed his struggles with suicidal and homicidal tendencies throughout his teenage years, ask the questions: how could their brother end up as a brutal killer and why was the psychiatric system unable to prevent Joakim from hurting himself and others?
By shedding light into Joakim's story this documentary investigates the current psychiatric system in Denmark - and whether it is essentially capable of taking care of patients like Joakim.
