The film Soul of Appliances scrutinizes the relationship between human and machine in a visual way; the naturalness with which people surround themselves with appliances, the dependence, the cherishing, but also the excessive irritation when some appliances seem to have an incomprehensible will of their own.
Gradually the question arises as to how natural the association with appliances really is, and which influence it has on our lives. The film, which develops into a documentary film essay, shows the emotional battle between man and machine and tries to entice every appliance user to think.
