FERAL is a psychological thriller/drama (graduation film). The film is set in a seemingly recognizable and quiet Dutch residential neighborhood. We follow Sanne, an oppressed mother trapped in a stifling and controlling family situation created by her partner, Jan. Gradually, Sanne discovers that Jan lies about everything and is completely losing control. The story builds to an intense climax in which Sanne must overcome her fear to protect her severely neglected and confined daughter.

The film employs a unique stylistic device: a large part of the film is shot from a low, restless point-of-view perspective. As a result, the viewer is left under the impression for a long time that the family has a dog in the house, until the shocking reality about their daughter becomes clear in the climax.

What do we offer?
Since this is a student production for my final exam project, we are working with a limited budget. We offer compensation to be discussed. Description
I am looking for a driven Head Editor who wants to take the film to the next level together with me (and in close collaboration with the sound designer and composer). The editing is crucial for this project: pacing information, guiding the viewer toward the plot twist, and building the underlying psychological tension depend entirely on the rhythm of the edit.

Job requirements / profile
You have demonstrable experience editing (fiction) films and know how to produce a professional edit.

You have a sense of timing, rhythm, and building psychological tension (carefully 'feeding' information to the viewer).

You can work within a strict time constraint: the film may be a maximum of approximately 15 minutes long.

Experience with mounting varying perspectives (handheld, POV vs. static lens) is a major plus.
