The Errand is a short, dialogue-free film following a man moving through the city during what should be a normal set of daily tasks.
The film starts at a distance, observing him like any other passerby. Gradually, that distance collapses. The camera gets closer, more persistent, until it becomes intrusive, less like observation, more like pressure. What he’s doing becomes harder to read, his actions become more absurd, and the city around him stops feeling neutral.
Nothing dramatic is explained. The shift happens through behavior, rhythm, and how the camera relates to him.

HOW IT WILL BE SHOT
Shot in black and white, in public spaces around Groningen, with a very small crew.
No dialogue. No scripted lines.
The performance is built around small actions, walking, stopping, reacting, hesitating. The focus is on timing and presence rather than expression.
The camera is not just recording; it changes how the situation feels. It moves from distant and observational to close and uncomfortable.
Sound will be constructed entirely in post-production, meaning what we hear won’t always match what we see.
The film is minimal in scale, but precise in execution. It relies on control, subtlety, and the ability to hold tension without explaining it.
