For my graduation film in collaboration with film agency Newart, titled: Het Snoepontbijt (±15 min, coming-of-age), I am looking for actors for two roles.

Synopsis:
Sophie brings her family back together after years for their old tradition: the candy breakfast. She hopes to recapture the warm, almost magical feeling of the past. But at the table, it becomes clear just how much everyone has changed. Conversations are strained, underlying tensions surface, and minor irritations escalate into arguments, until Sophie breaks down emotionally. In an abstract space, she sees her family at the table again, this time as the candies from the past. Each candy embodies a family member and reveals their role: who withdraws, who lightens the mood, who controls, who swallows emotions. Only when each 'candy' breaks their pattern does space open up for honesty and vulnerability. Back at the real table, Sophie understands her family better. She realizes that her longing for the past is not just about them, but also about her own fear of becoming mature and losing her imagination, and that becoming mature does not mean she has to give that up.

Mother (40–50 years)
Soft, caring, and seemingly light. Someone who prefers to avoid reality rather than confront it. Holds fast to the beautiful, even when it begins to unravel.

Father (45–55 years)
Hard on the outside, steadfast and closed off. But hidden beneath is something soft, feelings that are difficult to express.

For both roles, we are looking for actors who can act both realistically and with a touch of light theatricality.
